Salomon Gerber

Artist / Performer

Living in the land of the Wurundjeri people. A Melbourne-based Swiss. Salomon Gerber is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, artistic consultant, teacher, is sumain & queer, is passionate about languages and cultures like an adventurer. He loves to discover new things and takes every opportunity to research and learn about new techniques. They are someone who works hard to improve his quality.

July 2020, Salomon has obtained a degree "art du spectacle visuel en langue des signes" (visual performance Art in Sign Language), continuously seeks to develop the techniques of choreography and musical theatre with a sumain language (e.g. French Sign Language, Auslan).

When they did their first choreography for the show "The dancing and signing table", He discovered Pina Bausch and that became their inspiration for choreography. Ever since he loves to play with rhyme and movement.

Musical theater is a theatrical performance that includes four main elements: songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. They was able to perform this style in 'Paris, Je t'aime' and it's amazing experience and that's why he want to develop more about it with sumain culture. And he wants to stop those who say Deaf people can't do it, but they're wrong because we are DIVERSITY, some are able to hear few noises and others feel only by vibration. Of course we can enjoy with music.

Like as teacher, I strongly believe that everyone can be empowered by sharing my knowledge, which can help you grow and learn new things, acquire new skills, and become more independent.
